Tomasz Libront

President of the Management Board

Tomasz specialises in facultative reinsurance issues with an emphasis on reinsurance of large, difficult and unusual risks, in particular energy risks. He has participated in arranging reinsurance cover for liability and property insurance for the biggest Polish companies from the energy, financial, fuel, railway and chemical sectors. For 27 years, he has been cooperating with the biggest reinsurance companies in the world in the field of facultative risk reinsurance. He has been associated with Smartt Re since 2008 (then THB Poland) and has held the role of president since 2016. He previously worked at PZU.

Piotr Ceranowicz

Member of the Board
Director of Aviation Risk Insurance

Piotr arranges and implements reinsurance programmes concerning key and strategic State Treasury entities for the Polish economy, the aviation, marine and chemical industries. He created insurance protection programmes for the Polish luxury yachts industry. He has been with Smartt Re since the company's inception in September 2007, and has been on the Board since 2018. He is responsible for relations with cedents and reinsurers, as well as for the company's administrative policy.

Katarzyna Rymarz

Member of the Board
Chief Financial Officer

Katarzyna serves as Chief Financial Officer at Smartt Re and is also responsible for the financial policy at MJM Holdings Group. She has been working for the Group since May 2018 and since March 2021 as a member of the MJM Holdings Management Board. She has been professionally involved in the insurance industry for over eight years. She has gained experience in AXA Group companies in Poland and working in AXA project teams in Madrid, previously also at Deloitte in the audit department.

Karolina Chełmicka

Director of Liability Reinsurance

Karolina manages the arrangement of reinsurance protection from the lines of liability insurance and environmental damage insurance. She gained over 20 years of experience in PZU and Chubb insurance companies, also in managerial positions. She joined Smartt Re in September 2021.

Aleksander Chmiel

Director of Financial Risk Reinsurance

Aleksander is responsible for reinsurance of financial risk such as D&O, cyber, BBB and professional liability, as well as transaction insurance. He specialises in innovative and non-standard solutions in this area. He has been professionally involved in the insurance industry for 14 years. He gained experience as an insurance broker, reinsurance broker, underwriter and product manager while working for STBU, ReSolutions, TUiR Allianz and EIB. He joined Smartt Re in May 2021.

Krystyna Czerwińska-Raczyńska

Claims Handling Director

Krystyna manages claims handling from all business lines. She has 20 years of practical experience in managing loss adjustment from property insurance and reinsurance contracts, which she gained in managerial positions at the Polish Re reinsurance company and at PZU and Chubb insurance companies. She joined Smartt Re in March 2021.

Małgorzata Jaworska

Deputy Director, Reinsurance

Responsible for negotiating and arranging treaty reinsurance contracts as well as facultative reinsurance contracts for property, engineering and cargo insurance risks. She gained 26 years of professional experience in the reinsurance industry, including knowledge of the markets of Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, working both in insurance and reinsurance companies (Energo–Asekuracja, Tryg Polska and Polskie Towarzystwo Reasekuracji). She joined the Smartt Re team in 2023.

Magdalena Jedynak

Senior Reinsurance Specialist

Magdalena is responsible for liaising between the client and reinsurers and preparing reinsurance documents. She has been professionally involved in the insurance industry for more than nine years. She gained her experience working at the Chubb insurance company. She joined Smartt Re in December 2023 and has been licensed as a reinsurance broker since April 2024.

Maciej Kotarski

Reinsurance Broker

Maciej is responsible for preparing reinsurance documents and contact on the client-reinsurers line. He joined Smartt Re in July 2020. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economy at the Kozminski Univeristy. He holds a reinsurance broker licence.

Sławomir Majkowski

Consultant to the Board

Sławomir specializes in insurance and reinsurance of property & engineering, business interruption, and cyber risks. He supports Smartt Re in establishing and strengthening relationships with reinsurers in the German and Swiss markets and developing new business solutions. He joined the team in July 2023. He worked for 28 years at the Munich Re Group (TELA Versicherung 6 years and Munich Re 22 years), with the responsibility for the Central and Eastern European markets.

Beata Obiegła

Director of Aviation Insurance

Beata is a specialist in aviation insurance and reinsurance risks. She gained over 10 years of experience in AIG and Ergo Hestia, Insurance and Reinsurance companies, being responsible for development of aviation insurance, risk assessment and underwriting. She joined Smartt Re in December 2022.

Konstanty Potocki

Director of Agriculture Reinsurance

Konstanty is responsible for agricultural risk reinsurance. He specialises in reinsurance and insurance issues regarding crops, livestock, agricultural property, forestry and casco risks. He is also responsible for arranging coverage for non-standard risks, including parametric risks. He has been involved in the insurance market since 2017. He gained experience as an insurance broker at FST Management and as an agricultural product manager and underwriter at TUZ Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Wzajemnych. He holds a solicitor's title and specialises in civil law, including insurance and indemnity law. He joined the Smartt Re team in 2024.

Agnieszka Radalowicz

Senior Reinsurance Specialist

Agnieszka has 21 years practical Reinsurance experience in the following areas: working as an underwriter, working in negotiating terms and Reinsurance contract conditions with both Brokers and Insurance companies. She gained her professional experience at Generali Life, PTU – Polish Insurance Company, PTR – Polish Re and for the last 8 years at Hannover Re Life in the City of London. Agnieszka joined Smartt Re in August 2022. Her main areas of responsibility are Client – Reinsurer contact point and the preparation of Reinsurance documentation.

Joanna Woźniak

Legal Director

Joanna is responsible for comprehensive handling of widely understood legal matters. She has many years of professional experience as an independent lawyer, among others in the field of servicing companies in different industries, including insurance and brokerage. She specialises in companies, insurance, personal data protection (GDPR) and labour law. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and has held the title of Legal Advisor since 2011. She has been working at Smartt Re since 2018.

Artur Zaron

Director of Strategic Clients' Reinsurance

Artur specialises in insurance and reinsurance issues with particular emphasis on the reinsurance of large energy risks. He has been professionally involved in the insurance industry for 25 years. He gained experience as an insurance and reinsurance broker in WTW Polska, Sedgwick Polska and as a co-Founder and Board Member of Polskie Centrum Brokerskie, an in-house insurance and reinsurance broker of the PGNiG Group. He joined Smartt Re in July 2021. He is the author of the first weather risk protection contract on the Polish market.

Krzysztof Zawistowski

Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager

Krzysztof has been involved in the insurance market since the beginning of his career. He gained experience in such companies as PZU SA, Gothaer/Wiener, Warta. He has experience in the field of reinsurance and insurance controlling. At Smartt Re he deals with settlements and reporting.
